Bike the Uwharries

The Wood Run Mountain Bike Trail System is going through a transformation with involves minor alterations for environmental improvements on existing trails and plans for additional trails and features.

Currently The Wood Run Mountain Bike Trail System offers 22 miles of trails. Park at the Woodrun Trailhead on NC24/27, unload, then enjoy the leisurely pace of Woodrun Road as you prepare to take on the rough and rocky Keyauwee and Supertree Trails.

Park at Wood Run Trailhead, NC 24/27 between Troy and Albemarle. It is 10 miles west of Troy and two miles east of the Tillery Bridge.

Wood Run Road 11 miles Easy
The gated and graveled road heads north from the parking lot. Round trip is approximately 11 miles.

Supertree Trail 5 miles Easy to Moderate
Connects to Wood Run Road 1.75 miles in. Supertree is 5 miles long. Ride this loop clockwise for more single track downhill. Marked with double white blazes.

Keyauee Trail 6 miles More Difficult
Connects to Wood Run Road 2.6 miles in. Keyauee is 6 miles long. Ride this loop counterclockwise for more single track downhill. Marked with double white blazes. View map

No bikes on hiking trails
The Uwharrie and Dutchman’s Creek hiking trails are not open to mountain bikes. These trails are marked with single white or yellow blazes.

Road Cycling
Montgomery County has five designated cycling routes. Signage is not yet in place, but a map is available. View Map
