The Uwharrie National Forest has four developed campgrounds, all located in the Badin Recreation Area.

The Badin Lake Recreation Area has four campgrounds with full facilities:
	Arrowhead Campground has 50 sites for Tent/RV camping near the Cove Boat Ramp, 33 Sites with electrical hookups and 17 without. Each site has a table, grill, lamp post and camping pad. The campground has 6 spigots located around the campground for drinking water. A bathhouse with flush toilets, hot showers, and laundry sink is centrally located.
	Badin Lake Campground has 37 sites for tent and trailer camping on two loops. Some sites are located directly on the lakeshore. Each site has a table, grill, lamp post, and tent pad. There are water spigots for drinking water located on both loops. Flush toilets and showers are located in both the upper and lower loops.
	Badin Group Camp was developed for use by clubs, families and other groups. The camp includes three separate areas with a 15-35 person capacity.
	Canebrake Horse Camp has 29 sites with parking spurs for horse trailers. Five are double campsites. Each site has a picnic table, grill, lantern post, and hitching post. No electricity or water hookups are provided. The camp has spigots for drinking water, showers, and flush toilets. A sewage dump station and horse washing rack are centrally located.

Roughing it:
Uwharrie Hunt Camp, Yates Camp and West Morris Camp sites each have a picnic table, fire pit and lantern pole. There are vault toilets, but no water. Sites are assigned on a first come, self-service fee basis. West Morris has a 1.5-mile connector trail to the Uwharrie National Recreation Trail.
Primitive camping is permitted throughout the forest, except where signs indicate otherwise. Campers are asked to use established sites marked by fire rings.
