At Kings Mountain Point
The 7th Annual Uwharrie Mountain Festival takes place Saturday, October 13, 2012 at King’s Mountain Point in the Uwharrie National Forest. 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Come and experience an entire day of outdoor recreational, family-oriented fun!
- Uwharrie Mountain Festival 5-Mile Trail Run/Walk
The 5-Mile Trail Run/Walk will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. A large portion of the trail travels along beautiful Badin Lake, and takes runers/walkers on a challenging course through the Uwharrie National Forest. Free open paddling opportunities throughout the day. Kayaks will be provided on site at King's Mountain Point. - Wine Tasting Event
Come by the open air pavillion and try some fabulous NC made wines. Wines will be available for purchase along with "special edition" festival wine glasses. - Orienteering
The forest is a perfect place to try the competitive sport of orienteering. Participants find their way from checkpoint to checkpoint across natural terrain with the aid of a map and compass. The first to make it back to the start point is the winner! - Kids’ Zone
“Let's Go Outside and Play” is the theme of this year's Kids’ Zone. The Partnership for Children returns with a big lineup of children’s events.- Pumpkin Painting
