Located next to the Uwharrie Forest in central North Carolina, the Underground House was originally built in 1980 by Jason (Miner) Parson for his family as a residence. This home was purchased and remodeled in 2006 for use as a vacation rental retreat. Maintaining the original timber frame underground features the lighting and ventilation were greatly improved by enlarging skylights and adding geothermal heating and air conditioning.
